Palestinian Coin Collection

During the British Mandate in Palestine (1927–1948), a series of Palestinian coins were minted and circulated. They were issued in denominations from mils (1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100) and bore inscriptions in three languages: Arabic, English, and Hebrew. The coins were made of copper, nickel, and silver alloys depending on the value. Their designs often featured olive branches, symbolizing the land’s heritage, and carried the name “Palestine” with the year of minting. These coins are now considered rare historical pieces, valued for their cultural and political significance as tangible symbols of Palestine’s identity during that period.
